I’m obsessed with these crescent moon sun catchers! I used alcohol ink on clear glass and various techniques to achieve these exciting new pieces.

These were inspired by the traditional names for the full moons that happen every month of the calendar year. The Farmers Almanac has some pretty cool information if you ever get the chance to browse one. I highly suggest it!

Each crescent moon is approximately 4” tall.

•January - light and dark blue hues with white spots representing an Ice Moon

•February - smokey grays and hints of browns representing a Storm Moon

•March - haunting blacks, purples and pinks representing a Crow Moon

•April - shocking pinks and reds representing a Pink Moon

•May - soft purples and pinks representing a Flower Moon

•June - vibrant reds and oranges representing a Strawberry Moon

•July - bright yellow and small areas of sunken opaque whites representing a Hay Moon

•August - smoldering oranges and golden yellows representing a Sturgeon Moon

•September - warm golds and crisp yellows representing a Harvest Moon

•October - swirled greens and browns representing a Hunters Moon

•November - deep browns with splashes of blue representing a Beavers Moon

•December - greens and yellows overtaken by blues representing a Cold Moon

***These pieces do contain lead. They are wrapped in lead came. I also use a lead based solder in the majority of my work.***
